Week 10: Music Systems in FMOD
Unit 5 · Advanced FMOD + Unity · Wed Apr 8
Overview
The adaptive music system at the center of the project. The brief requires an introduction, at least one transition timeline, three intensity levels that follow the player’s score, and effects or compositional changes that follow the player’s health. This week covers the two families of approach — horizontal re-sequencing and vertical layering — and how FMOD’s timeline, transition regions, logic markers, and parameter automation implement them.
Topics
- Horizontal (re-sequencing) vs. vertical (layering) music systems
- FMOD timeline, tempo markers, transition timelines and regions
- Parameter-driven intensity — mapping
Scoreto layers and sections - Health-driven effects and compositional change
In Class
